Evaluation of Our Film

Our film was a short thriller film, about a young girl that suffers from bipolar disorder and other mental disorders. The film follows the girls as she goes to her first counselling session to help her control her disorder, it also shows flashbacks of the girls troubled past and how it has affected her disorder and her life. the original idea for our film was just about a girl that suffered from bipolar disorder, however this idea changed slightly as we later decided to make the film more interesting we would introduce a clown that started Scarlett's disorder. Scarlett see's the clown in her head, this isn't a symptom of bipolar disorder this is schizophrenia, this lead to some confusion to the viewer of our film. This was the only really problem with our film. The ideas in the script didn't translate well to the viewer when the film was finished, if i was to do it again i would change some aspects of the scripted.

Our film's target audience was 18 to 25 year olds. I think this certificate was appropriate as our film included strong language and scenes that could distress younger viewers. It also appealed to this audience as it used actors of about that age. However i think some of the script was a little outdated and needed re writing to relate to this audience more.

We had trouble with the editing as many of the shorts begin and end in back positions and angles to edit together we had to re film many bits of the film as some of the shots we're impossible to edit without jump cuts. If i was to do this again i'd try and think about the editing more as i filmed shot. Some of the shots where also of colour and we had to use colour correcter to edit this out. To change this next time i film i will make sure the white balance is set correctly. Because of the actors turning up late many times we didn't really have time to think about The camera settings.
