The Basic Elements of a film poster
To do this i am using the film poster for the first jaws film. I have enlarged each bit of the poster to make it clearer.
Full Poster
The writer of the book, this is important as any people that liked the book will proble go see the film. Also if the film has a a cult following such as films like harry potter many people will go see it purely for this reason.
It is importan to have the name of the artist that did the music as the fans of the artist may come and see the film.
The certificate, this is important as it tells the audience what to expect from the film, for example if a film contains bad language or violence or nudity.
Actors this is important as famous actors will draw in more people and some people will go see a film just because it has an actor they like in it. Also certain actors draw in poeple from certain age groups so it can help you get your target audience.
The title this is obviously important without it on your poster no one would know what film the poster is for
Other elements that arn't featured on this poster
Tagline - A catchy slogan for the film that everyone remembers
Reviews and ratings - if a film gets a good review the film will want to publicize that
