Brief Synopsis of ‘Psychosis Circus’
• Scarlett (the protagonist) looks through her deceased father’s possessions and finds a gun labelled ‘John Doe’ named after her step-brother.
• She goes into counselling, looks around at the unfamiliar surroundings and sits down. She is 17 years old.
• She talks to the counsellor about her childhood.
• A relative tells the 8-year-old Scarlett that her father has died.
• The first thing she sees after hearing such devastating news is her clown doll, Jester.
• Back to the present day in counselling, Scarlett is then asked why she believes she is in counselling to which she replies, because of the bullies.
• The now 13-year-old Scarlett is being bullied by children at school whilst Jester laughs and mocks her.
• Jester then plays scrabble with Scarlett in her bedroom, she is 13 years old.
• Jester says offensive things to Scarlett which causes her to lose her temper.
• Scarlett is back in the present day, and before her eyes, her counsellor becomes Jester.
• She kills him, realises she has not killed Jester but her counsellor, Beryl, and sobs.
