The red top and green skirt combination clash to show the clashing sides of her personality, they also help show the theme of confusion
This is the costume for Jester. The red wig is usual for a clown, and the clothes are red as we are picking out the red from the black and white shots. The costume will be padded slightly to give a jolly impression, which will juxtapose with the character of Jester
Uncle
The uncle will be wearing casual, everyday clothes to give the film a sense of realism, as most of the film does seem surreal.
Beryl
Beryl will wear a white shirt, grey trousers and a black tank top. The clothes show that she is a professional, and the colours show how ordinary Beryl is. Beryl will also have blonde hair. This is because we want to subvert the stereotype of "dumb blondes".
Scarlett - Improved
This is the new costume for Scarlett. She will wear a dark blue spotted shirt, with a grey floral patterned playsuit on top and green shoes. The clashing colours and patterns show the confusion Scarlett suffers in the film. The playsuit will also have pockets where Scarlett will hide the gun when planning to kill Beryl. She will also wear pearl jewellery to reflect her middle-class status.
